We were a group of two families which included 2 kids of around 2 years of age and stayed there for 2 nights. We booked this hotel via Makemytrip where they have published wrong and incorrect pictures and information. There are multiple irregularities in the information provided by the hotel: 1. Location - It is not in lansdowne but 15 km before the lansdowne started. 2. The way to the hotel is very steep and risky. 3. The rooms were smelly and had damp bedsheets and mattresses. There were flies (makhi) roaming around in the bathroom and rooms. The bathrooms were so dirty and they do not have any shower. 4. One of the kid vomited at night at around 1 AM. When we asked them to change the bedsheet and pillow, they denied that they do not have any extra pillow or bedsheet. They even refused to clean the vomit at that time giving the reply that "store room is closed and they have to open the store room to get the jhadu.". We had to clean our room by ourself at night. 5. The buffet breakfast here is a myth. They only prepare two dishes everyday. There is no boiled eggs, breads, parathas etc. Even if you have booked the breakfast, since these items are ordered on a need basis, they will charge you extra for that. I could not understand what is the use of booking a buffet breakfast if it will contain two items along with chai only and you have to pay again for extra things. 6. TV was not working because they do not know how to recharge a dishtv. It took them more than a day to recharge the dishtv, 7. The property manager is so rude that when we asked him that the kid has vomited. He told us that "Room service is only from 7AM-10PM and you should bring your own bedsheet to the hotel". I was shocked to hear that a customer should bring own bedsheet to the hotel. Food is worst as well. The Dal Makhni was smelling and it feels like they have mixed some other dal as well. In our two days of stay, We encountered 3-4 families who were fighting with them because they have provided wrong information on MMT. One of the families's kids were crying for breakfast in the lobby area and they were not providing them the breakfast. IT was a chaos and havoc in the hotel staying there as everyone was upset with the hotel and its services. I would never recommend anyone to book this hotel. I would also request MMT to delist this hotel from their portal as it is providing false information. They will try their best to make you feel at home (sarcastically) because this is not a hotel but like a rented home.

This is a decent place but keep your expectations low. Below are some of the things I can mention as Pros and Cons. Pros: The view is decent provided you get the room with one else it’s a mountain wall facing you with a banquet bathroom to stare at you. Suggestion is to avoid rooms with the number 7 or 8 at the end like 207 or 308 etc. If you do manage to get a 303, 304, 205 then the view is of the mountain ranges which is nice. Electricity is a problem in the region but the hotel has its own backup which is good. The room has a kettle with milk powder, sugar and tea/coffee in case you want to make one for yourself. The food is good and tasty. Staff is polite and helpful. Parking is available for cars. There is an open area adjoining the hotel with seating where you can spend time in the evenings while enjoying snacks from the Hotel, the tables are unfinished though without even a covering of mica. The bathrooms are good and clean with warm water available.Breakfast is free only if you selected that at booking. My suggestion is go Ala Carte unless you are 4 or more in a room. Cons: Some of the things to note and are crucial. The approach road to the hotel is not cemented or built properly. It’s a unbuilt road which can be a little tricky to drive on. In rainy season this can be actually bad and treacherous since on the way out from the hotel you have to be in 1st gear and a muddy road can be tricky. Wifi is not really available on the 2nd floor and might be just ok on the 1st floor. While there was a wifi extender on the 2nd floor it wasn’t working and if active might help. The connection itself might be a 1 or 2 mbps connections so don’t expect anything besides basic Whatsapp and maybe a little FB to work properly. On low occupancy days this should be fine though. The room we stayed in had not been cleaned properly with the bathroom pot still dirty and stinking. On calling the reception it was cleaned within 15 mins but no toliet rolls. The bedsheets etc should be cleaned much better. A shower in the bathroom should definitely be there. However looks like water supply in the region is an issue and hence not sure if showers have been left out on purpose. Maybe they should plan a rain harvester but don’t think or suppose that the management listens to these reviews looking at what the people have posted priorly. Additionally while we had booked a Super Deluxe room online there is no way to know if that’s what was provided. There is almost negligible network connectivity for mobile users which is not a hotel issue and is present almost all over Lansdowne but then that’s where Wifi becomes crucial to work better(CellOne seemed to be the only network which seemed better than the rest here). The hotel could do well to increase the Internet bandwidth and install some bandwidth management mechanism to ensure that a single person watching youtube doesn’t hog the entire bandwidth. Basic internet connectivity is a must in the room these days. The 2nd floor in summers is unbearably hot in afternoon summers and should have an AC at least in the month of June/July. The nights are cool and the one fan in the room suffices. The second floor might be a little better. Overall: The town of Lansdowne is about 6-7 kms from the hotel and takes about 15 mins to reach. You can visit Tip & top point, Sunset/Sunrise point or if you can drive ahead then the Tarkeshwar temple is absolutely a must see. Make sure you stock up on a full load of fuel at Dugadda before Lansdowne which is last place where fuel will be available. I couldn’t locate any fuel station post that. Carry a 5 lt Fuel canny still as a precaution if driving by yourself especially if you intend to visit the Tarkeshwar temple. Overall the place is very pristine and not crowded as of now. Not very commercial so if you are looking for a quiet getaway with a place still not crowded like Manali or Shimla then this would be a good place to visit. From a hotel standpoint do your research well before booking one.

Room cost was 4500 with Valley view. View was fine but room was costly as per services. Some Issues: 1. Flush was not working. Mattresses were dirty. Almirah was dusty. Birds Poo on floor in balcony which means not washed before. 2. No response to Intercom, called 111 and 9 and many times no response. In morning when asked for breakfast, wrong time communicated. Asked for room service 2-3 times to get person. 3. Breakfast was served very late around 8:45. Food quality and choice was average. Told Front desk to look into these while leaving but they looks helpless as per them lansdowne is new to tourism and difficult to get trained staff amd brain drain is more among localites so they are trying to manage somehow. Road to hotel was bad but i underatand PWD is not allowing to construct the same. I suggest Hotel Management to train Staff on customer service or decrease cost of room. Also do some infrastructural upgrades at least basic ones.

We, a group of four, visited this hotel in April 2019. We had booked 2 Super Deluxe rooms through a portal. Prior to booking, we enquired about the specifications of the rooms (including the view) as their website was of no help. They said "view sare room se hi achcha milega..valley facing milega". We did not believe them as the construction of the hotel is such that you can not have valley view from all the rooms. Therefore, we booked two Super Deluxe rooms (instead of Deluxe) thinking that at least these will have a decent view, if not valley view. However, when we reached the hotel, the guy at the reception (can't recall his name, he said he was the manager) was awfully rude, informed that all valley view Super Deluxe rooms are occupied and sarcastically commented that we had got a very good deal through that portal. Anyways, after we realised that arguing with him would be of no use, we tried to see the rooms being offered to us. He said one room was parking & road facing and the other room opened towards the backside of the hotel. However, We were shocked to discover that the so-called "backside" room had a TOILET view (toilet of the banquet hall, pic attached). Even the rooms in a basic hotel would not have such a view. However, our surprise did not end here. The other room was a breeding ground for house flies, which were resting on the ceiling and the walls. The linens had stains, the quilt cover was dirty, although the staff changed them when we complained. Next day morning, there was no running water in the bathroom in one of the rooms. The only saving grace was the food. Although understaffed, the restaurant serves tasty food and the staff is courteous and try their best to cater to the needs of the guests. The hotel has some basic issues: 1) the website is ill-designed, only one picture of each room has been provided, 2) hygiene issue, 3) maintenance issue, 4) guys at the reception need to learn the basic lessons of courtesy, 5) an indifferent owner (we tried to contact a senior person, but the manager told us that he had no senior, so wanted to talk to the owner, but he refused to talk to us). I wonder- if the owner is not bothered about the comfort of his guests, can we really blame the staff for the mismanagement of the hotel?

We booked the hotel through goibibo site, money was deducted from my account but when I left I got a message from goibibo in the morning that my room is not booked but when I reached at the hotel Mr gaur at the reception gave me the upgraded room without booking at the goibibo rate. I really appreciate the effort of the hotel management and the service is excellent
